A Southeast Asian landscape painting executed in oil on a textured board. The composition depicts a river scene with multiple stilt-mounted dwellings featuring thatched roofs, interspersed with lush tropical vegetation including palm trees and dense foliage. Several long, narrow wooden boats are visible on the water, navigated by figures wearing conical hats. The work is finished in a palette of deep greens and earthy tones under a pale yellow hazy sky, with visible impasto textures in the foreground and foliage. The lower right corner bears a painted signature reading PHAN. The painting is housed in a mid-to-late 20th-century frame featuring a dark green fabric-covered inner mount with a gilt-finished slip and a wide wood-effect outer moulding.
