The necklace is secured with a gilt-metal effect fishhook box clasp. The clasp displays a marquise-shaped face with a textured, radiating design, inset with a single small pearl to the centre. The reverse of the clasp bears a stamped mark in the form of a four-petaled floral or geometric motif; this mark is not legible as a name or a standard fineness hallmark.
