A pair of earthenware tankards of cylindrical form, each featuring a distinctive high-arched angular handle. The vessels are decorated with hand-painted underglaze polychrome designs under a clear glossy glaze. One tankard is ornamented with a dense peacock-eye or fish-scale pattern in pink and black, interspersed with floral medallions in yellow, green, and blue, framed by turquoise arabesque cartouches. The second tankard features a geometric hexagonal honeycomb pattern, with each cell containing stylized floral sprigs in blue, green, and red. Both vessels are finished with a brown and black saw-tooth border at the rim. The handles are partially unglazed, revealing a buff-coloured ceramic body. These pieces are executed in the manner of 19th-century French Samson? Iznik revival wares, though no maker’s marks or signatures are visible to the bases or bodies.
