An assortment of earthenware novelty teapots featuring various figural and architectural designs. The group includes a square-bodied teapot with transfer-printed theatrical scenes framed by blue curtains, inscribed along the base “WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE 1564-1616”. Also present is a figural teapot modeled as the head and shoulders of King Henry VIII, wearing a Tudor-style cap which forms the lid, decorated with a red beard and green collar. A further teapot is modeled as the character Winnie-the-Pooh? in a seated position with a solid yellow glaze and a red bow tie. The collection is completed by an anthropomorphic pig wearing a waistcoat and a two-story cottage featuring a red-tiled roof and a shop front with a striped awning. Each piece is finished with a clear glaze over painted and transfer-printed decoration. The Winnie-the-Pooh? figure shows visible crazing to the yellow glaze.
