A collection of four Victorian period colour relief prints, likely produced using the George Baxter process? or a similar nineteenth-century stippled printing technique. The set comprises four distinct narrative scenes of idealized rural and domestic life: a family group gathered under a tree with a pet lamb; a courting couple in a garden setting; a street musician with a hurdy-gurdy serenading a woman at a cottage window; and a family party in a rowing boat on a river with a country house in the distance. The prints are characterized by a fine, stippled application of colour and detailed figural compositions typical of the mid-Victorian era. Each print is presented within a cream-coloured mount and housed in a matching ornate gilt-wood effect frame. The frames feature a stepped profile with a beaded inner border and a textured, stippled finish to the outer cove. The prints are protected by glazing. A yellow adhesive label is present on the mount of the family group print. No maker’s marks, signatures, or publisher’s credits are visible through the mounts.
