A die-cast model ice cream van produced by Corgi Toys, based on a Smith’s Karrier Van chassis. The vehicle is finished in a two-tone light blue and cream livery with decorative Mister Softee decals featuring the brand’s mascot. The model incorporates the Glidamatic spring suspension system and includes a detailed plastic interior with a seated ice cream salesman figure. The clear plastic side windows are designed to slide, operated by a metal turning handle located on the underside of the chassis. A red plastic ice cream cone ornament is mounted to the front roof section. The grey die-cast underside is embossed with the characters SMITH’S KARRIER VAN, CORGI TOYS, PATENT APPLICATION 21101/59, and MADE IN GT. BRITAIN. The lot includes the original cardboard picture box, which identifies the model as 428 and lists features including spring suspension, sliding windows, and a detail moulded interior.
