A group of miniature medals mounted on a black fabric buckram for formal wear. The group comprises a George VI Efficiency Medal with a green ribbon and yellow borders, fitted with two white metal bars and a suspension bar reading MILITIA. Below is a George VI General Service Medal 1918-62 featuring a purple ribbon with a central green stripe, notably fitted with a spread-eagle suspension characteristic of the Royal Air Force. The group continues with a 1939-1945 Star, a Defence Medal, and a War Medal 1939-1945. The circular coinage-style medals are struck in white metal and feature the effigy of King George VI. The obverse of the General Service Medal bears the inscription GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP:. The War Medal bears the inscription GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:. The reverse of the Efficiency Medal is inscribed FOR LOYAL SERVICE surrounding a central royal cypher. The medals exhibit a heavy dark tarnish throughout the metal surfaces. The ribbons show signs of age-related fading and light fraying.
