A collection of cupro-nickel 50 pence coins of equilateral curve heptagonal form, featuring a mixture of large-specification (pre-1997) and small-specification (post-1997) issues. The assortment includes four large-size UK coins featuring the seated figure of Britannia by Christopher Ironside? with shield and trident; three bear the reverse legend NEW PENCE 50 and one is inscribed FIFTY PENCE 50. A large-size Jersey coin features a coat of arms with three lions passant guardant, inscribed BAILIWICK OF JERSEY 1980 and FIFTY NEW PENCE. The small-specification coins include a 1997 Guernsey issue depicting two freesia flowers inscribed FIFTY PENCE 1997 50 and a Jersey issue featuring a kingfisher in flight inscribed 50P. All coins feature the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse.
