A trio of Japanese-style inro? constructed from bone? or a similar animal derivative. Each container is composed of multiple interlocking compartments held together by a silk cord and a sliding ojime bead. The exterior surfaces are decorated with black ink-inlaid scrimshaw-style designs. One side of each vessel depicts traditional nature themes, including passerine birds on blossoming branches and a landscape with gnarled pine trees. The reverse sides feature Shunga? (erotic art) scenes, illustrating couples in various intimate interior and exterior settings. The largest inro bears two incised characters on the side reading 玉石 (Gyokuseki?). The medium-sized vessel is incised with the characters 正信 (Masanobu?). The smallest item features two characters in red ink reading 玉石 (Gyokuseki?). All three pieces retain their matching beads and cordage.
