A large oval convertible brooch and pendant of ornate construction. The central feature is an oval ceramic? plaque displaying a transfer-printed Rococo style scene depicting a courting couple in 18th-century costume within an interior setting. This central medallion is protected under a clear cabochon and is held within a wide, openwork filigree frame of scrolled wirework and twisted rope borders. The frame is further decorated with eight small white pearl? beads, each set into a raised floral mount. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin and C-clasp mechanism, along with a large integrated pendant bail positioned to the side, allowing the piece to be worn as a necklace. The frame is constructed from a dark-toned white metal with a heavy patina. The reverse shows a plain white surface to the central plaque.
