A collection of 78 RPM shellac records housed in a Winel portable record carrier. The case is constructed with a blue pebbled-texture exterior and features a tiered interior containing twenty-one numbered cardboard dividers for individual disc storage. The interior lid bears a gold-toned printed logo featuring a globe and the text WINEL, REGD. TRADE MARK, GRAMOPHONE PORTABLE RECORD CASES. The lot includes various ten-inch discs from prominent labels. Legible examples include a Parlophone disc, Without Rhythm – Fox-Trot, by The Rhythmic Eight (F 411); a Columbia disc, My Barney – Fox-Trot, by The B.B.C. Dance Orchestra directed by Henry Hall (FB 1086); a Decca disc, Two Hearts That Beat in Waltz Time (F.2292); a Parlophone disc, Gone With the Wind (F 898); and a His Master’s Voice (HMV) disc featuring the Nipper logo. The collection primarily comprises popular dance band music and Fox-Trot arrangements from the pre-war and wartime eras.
