An earthenware cheese dome and matching circular stand featuring a cream-coloured glaze and hand-painted Chinoiserie style decoration. The cover is moulded in a fluted parasol form with a gold-highlighted finial, decorated with motifs of hummingbirds in flight, butterflies, and flowering branches with pink blossoms and blue bamboo-like foliage. The rim of the dome and the stand are finished with a brown ochre band simulating bamboo. The underside of the stand bears a faint impressed mark reading WINTON above a less distinct lower mark. The interior of the stand is marked with the handwritten characters 2913 in brown pigment.
