A vintage fly fishing rod constructed from hexagonal split-cane bamboo. The rod is composed of three sections, featuring brass ferrules and wire snake guides secured with green thread whippings. The handle section terminates in a brass butt cap. The rod is accompanied by a brown vinyl? / faux-leather? carrying case with a textured surface and a separate blue fabric inner sleeve. Also included is a large cylindrical cardboard mailing or storage tube. The tube is printed with a repeating blue logo featuring a stylized triangle motif and the characters MEGAFILM. A white adhesive label on the tube reads 20 LS-FR FLAME RETARDANT, accompanied by a telephone number (0635) 521494. The markings on the tube indicate it is a secondary storage container for flame-retardant material and not original to the rod’s manufacture.
