A vintage promotional football of multi-panel stitched construction with a white synthetic leather? finish. The ball features commemorative branding associated with the former England and Liverpool captain Emlyn Hughes (1947-2004). A central vertical panel is printed in red block lettering with black outlines reading EMLYN HUGES O.B.E. Notably, the surname is misspelled as HUGES on the casing. Adjacent to this text is a black printed portrait graphic depicting the player’s face. The inclusion of the O.B.E. suffix indicates a production date post-1980, the year Hughes was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. The ball is composed of eighteen stitched panels in the traditional volleyball-style configuration.
