A group of framed artworks including a large oil on canvas depicting a red deer stag and hinds within a Highland landscape, reminiscent of works by Robert Cleminson? and other Victorian animalier painters. The composition features a central stag standing on a rocky outcrop against a misty mountain backdrop, housed in a stepped gilt-metal effect frame. A further oil on canvas depicts a continental street scene with figures and domed architectural structures, rendered with heavy impasto and signed M. CHURCH lower left. This piece is held within a deeply moulded, foliate-carved gilt-metal effect frame. The collection also includes a maritime oil on board showing a coastal village under a dramatic sky, a still life of fruit signed with an illegible cursive mark in the upper right, and a religious print of Christ at a door. Completing the lot is a rectangular mirror set within a substantial ornate gilt-metal effect frame featuring an oval aperture.
