A vintage German diatonic button accordion, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The instrument is constructed with a dark reddish-brown finished wooden casing, featuring decorative silver-toned scrollwork stencilling to the end panels. The right-hand side is fitted with a single row of ten melody buttons, operated by external white metal levers and pallet covers. Three wooden stop knobs are situated at the top, likely for engaging different reed sets. The bellows are composed of reinforced card and leather with decorative floral paper edging and white metal corner plates. These plates are stamped with a device shaped like a cottage, within which is a character, above four lines of text reading HOUSE, TRADE MARK, MADE IN, SAXONY. A black fabric hand strap is attached to the frame.
