A pair of industrial laboratory test sieves constructed from copper with wire mesh screens. The first sieve features a rectangular black and brass adhesive label with the text TEST SIEVE, APERTURE, 1/8 IN, 159, BS 410, ENDECOTTS (TEST SIEVES) LTD., LONDON, S.W.19. ENGLAND, and PAT. No. 667924. The second sieve features an incised metal label reading GEORGE T. MOORE LIMITED, GLASGOW & EDINBURGH, MM 2.0, and 1/8 528, with the word TYLER? partially visible at the upper edge. Both instruments exhibit a deep natural patina and surface oxidation across the copper frames. The wire mesh screens are secured within the circular frames and show signs of industrial use and surface wear.
