A Royal Doulton porcelain figurine titled The Balloon Man, model number HN 1954. The polychrome glazed figure depicts an elderly street vendor in a seated position, dressed in a black coat, green trousers, a deep red waistcoat, and a blue and white striped cravat. He is portrayed holding a large bunch of multi-coloured balloons in shades of yellow, green, red, orange, and purple. The piece was originally modelled by Leslie Harradine and features fine hand-painted details to the face and clothing. The underside bears a printed green lion and crown over a circular Royal Doulton England backstamp, with the text MADE IN ENGLAND, THE BALLOON MAN, HN 1954, and Modelled by Leslie Harradine. The base also features a copyright mark for ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LIMITED 1939 and hand-painted black initials DM. The figurine is accompanied by its original blue cardboard presentation box featuring the Royal Doulton logo.
