A pair of classical style garden statues, each depicting a standing female figure in a modest, draped pose. The figures are modelled in the Neoclassical tradition, reminiscent of the Venus de’ Medici, with braided hair and flowing Grecian robes. One figure is depicted with her arms crossed over her chest, while the other is shown with a hand to her breast, both draped in robes that gather at the waist and fall to their feet. Each statue is supported by an integral circular base. The statues are constructed from cast reconstituted stone, featuring a textured surface that shows evidence of a previous white wash or painted finish, now heavily weathered to reveal the grey stone beneath. The surfaces are further decorated by the natural accumulation of lichen and moss.
