The grouping includes several white porcelain saucers of scalloped form featuring a polychrome heraldic crest depicting two lions rampant flanking a central shield, above a banner with the printed motto SOLANT ANTIQUAM DIRUUM and the word CHESTER below. Also present is a ceramic plate featuring a landscape scene, with a printed backstamp to the reverse reading JOHN CONSTABLE 1776-1837 / VALLEY FARM / TATE GALLERY LONDON. The assortment further comprises various floral-patterned transferware vessels, a blue and white transfer-printed bowl with a paginated landscape scene, and several white-glazed plates, some with pierced borders.
