A set of six Edwardian silver dress buttons presented in a fitted, silk and velvet-lined red presentation case. Each button is of pierced, openwork construction, featuring a diaphanous female figure in profile with flowing hair and drapery that integrates into an asymmetrical Art Nouveau floral and foliate border. The front of each button bears a series of integrated hallmarks. A central button features four vertically aligned marks: the first is a stylized lowercase letter ‘a’ or ‘d’ in a shaped shield; the second is a lion passant; the third is a Birmingham anchor assay mark; and the fourth consists of the capital letters ‘L’ and ‘S’ side by side, which may correspond to the maker Lawrence Smith. The presentation box features a red leatherette exterior with a functional clasp and hinge.
Diameter: Approximately 1.8 cm.
