A collection of three English earthenware preserve or condiment jars, each designed in naturalistic figural forms with relief-molded decoration and matching lids. The first is a green apple-shaped jar featuring a crackle glaze and scroll motifs, with the words APPLE SAUCE relief-molded on the side in white lettering. The base is impressed with the maker’s name SYLVAC, the model number 4549, APPLE, MADE IN ENGLAND, and two horizontal dash marks – -. The second is an ovoid onion-shaped jar with a pointed stem finial and scroll handles, finished in a two-tone honey and brown glaze with teardrop motifs. The base is impressed with the maker’s name SADLER and ENGLAND. The third jar is a spherical vegetable? form with a monochromatic honey glaze and a curved stem handle to the lid. Each piece is finished with a high-gloss glaze typical of mid-20th-century British kitchenalia.
