A collection of regional interest memorabilia and decorative items, primarily associated with the Retford Young Farmers’ Club. The group includes three copper-effect goblets of varying heights and two copper-effect bowls with brass-toned handles. A significant portion of the lot comprises souvenirs and awards, including a large wood-backed trophy shield with a gilt-metal effect laurel wreath and a central disc embossed ‘SPECIAL AWARD’. The lower plate is engraved ‘RETFORD Y.F.C. / HAROLD PEAKE / BEST BOY 2005/06 / JAMES DERNIE’. Two smaller wood-backed trophies feature yellow tractor emblems, one engraved ‘RETFORD Y.F.C. / BEST [illegible] / JAMES DERNIE’. Also present is a group of white metal souvenir spoons in original retail packaging; one blue box is printed ‘HISTORIC SOUVENIRS’ with a Union Jack coat of arms, and another is marked ‘Exquisite Silver Plated’. The lot is completed by a painted plastic? or lead alloy? figure of a British cavalry soldier on a black horse.
