A vintage white metal locket pendant of circular form, suspended from a fine curb link chain. The locket features a decorative embossed border to both sides, composed of scrolling foliate and shell motifs in a repoussé style. The pendant is double-sided, containing two original sepia-toned photographic portraits under protective covers. One side depicts the head and shoulders of a young child, while the reverse side shows a portrait of a young man. The metal surfaces exhibit a significant dark patina and tarnish, particularly to the recessed areas of the ornamentation. The locket is joined to the chain by a simple jump ring and a slightly elongated bail. No hallmarks, signatures, or maker’s marks are legible on the pendant or the chain.
