The unit features a black plastic handset connected by a stainless steel armoured handset cable, designed for use in hazardous or public environments such as railways and industrial plants. The faceplate is fitted with a twelve-button numerical keypad (1-0, *, #) and three additional functional buttons at the right-hand column labelled ‘LR’, ‘R’, and ‘S’. A rectangular adhesive label on the lower left of the faceplate features a logo of three stacked hexagons beside the text ‘dac Specialised Communications Burton-Upon-Trent UK’. The housing is secured with recessed hex-head screws at the corners and features a circular aperture on the left side of the faceplate. The unit is fitted with a standard white plastic telephone line cord.
