A collection of six bench-top collector’s chests? featuring oak or oak-veneered drawer fronts set within a solid wood carcass finished in vibrant blue paint. Each chest is fitted with six drawers, each featuring a recessed polished brass campaign-style pull handle secured by four screws. The drawer interiors are constructed from a mahogany-toned plywood and are variously fitted with internal wooden dividers for the organisation of small components. The construction utilises simple butt-joint or pinned methods. The drawers contain an assortment of workshop and household sundries, including brass screws, hinges, tape, stationery, and a red cloth-bound book. Visible marks within the contents include a yellow adhesive label reading ‘SLOTTED BRASS WOODSCREWS’, a white label reading ’18 x 38 mm 816 Labels’ by Avery, and items associated with Bosch and C.A. Myers Co.
