A large Middle Eastern? copper water jug or ewer of hand-hammered martelé construction. The vessel features a wide, bulbous body tapering through a segmented neck to a domed lid. The lid is secured by a hinged strap and topped with a small, stylized cast finial. A simple, curved dark metal? strap handle is riveted and soldered to the neck and shoulder of the jug. The surface exhibits extensive hand-hammered texture throughout, with visible horizontal seams where the sections of the body have been joined. The copper shows significant traces of old tinning or lead-based solder, particularly around the joints and lid assembly, providing a mottled grey and copper finish. There are no maker marks or signatures visible on the vessel.
