An Italian yellow gold cross pendant featuring a multi-layered openwork filigree design. The piece is centred with a fleur-de-lis motif, from which four arms extend, each decorated with scrolling heart-shaped filigree framed by millegrain beaded borders. The pendant is constructed with a substantial, deep openwork gallery and is finished with a simple circular bale for suspension. The side of the body bears Italian hallmarks struck in separate punches, including a rectangular mark reading 1 AR, and a lozenge-shaped punch reading 750. A further small oval mark is present but the characters are not clearly legible. The intricate metalwork is finished with a high-polish shine to the raised surfaces.
