A 9 carat? yellow gold cocktail ring featuring a large central oval-cut smoky quartz? gemstone. The translucent, deep brownish-grey stone is secured in a multiple prong basket setting. The head of the ring is surrounded by a wide, decorative border with a heavily textured woven rope-like finish. This ornate mount transitions into split shoulders that taper into a narrow, polished shank. The interior of the band bears an incised mark featuring the numerals 585, which typically denotes 14 carat gold, alongside an additional indistinct mark to the left which is not legible as a name or specific assay symbol.
