A Royal Doulton fine bone china figurine of a woman in evening dress titled Soirée. The piece is modelled wearing a formal 19th-century style gown with a deep green bodice and draped overskirt above a cream-coloured underskirt. The underskirt is decorated with printed sepia-toned floral sprigs. The lady is depicted with one hand resting on her hip and the other holding a white pleated fan. Her blonde hair is styled in an upswept fashion with a decorative headband. The base bears a printed black factory mark comprising a lion upon a crown over a circular emblem containing the words ROYAL DOULTON, encircled by the words MADE IN ENGLAND and BONE CHINA. Below the emblem is printed Soirée, H.N. 2312, COPR. 1966, DOULTON & CO LIMITED, followed by Rd No 926655, Rd No 10721, Rd No 492/66, and Rd No 49854. A small hand-painted brown mark is also present, reading 12.
