An Art Nouveau fire screen of rectangular, landscape-oriented form, showcasing artisanal metalwork techniques from the turn of the 20th century. The piece is constructed with a central copper? panel featuring a hand-hammered texture and intricate repoussé decoration. The ornamental motif consists of stylised, sinuous stems that entwine to form a central circular field, terminating in two tulip? flower heads to the left and flowing into scrolled foliate forms to the right. The panel is housed within a brass? tube frame supported by four out-swept, curved feet and is topped with an ornate, scrolled brass? handle. The design exemplifies the organic, flowing aesthetic of the period, combining contrasting metal tones for decorative effect.
