A collection of Spode glazed earthenware vessels in the Blue Italian pattern, featuring graduated open pitchers and a lidded pot. The pieces exhibit a transfer-printed underglaze decoration in blue and white, depicting a classical Italianate landscape with ruins, pastoral figures, and livestock, framed by a complex Imari-style floral and scroll border. The open pitchers follow the Windsor? form with flared rims and scrolled handles. The lidded vessel includes a domed cover with a matching blue-decorated finial. Each piece bears a printed black mark to the base reading ‘Spode’, ‘Made in ENGLAND’, ‘ITALIAN’, ‘SPODE DESIGN’, ‘C.1816’, with the perimeter text ‘DISHWASHER SAFE’ and ‘MICROWAVE SAFE’. A vertically oriented code ’81/A2′ is also present.
