A set of five Spode earthenware jugs of graduated sizes. The vessels are decorated in the Blue Italian pattern, featuring underglaze blue transfer-printed scenes of classical ruins and figures set within pastoral landscapes, enclosed by broad borders of stylised foliate and floral motifs. Each jug is of pear-shaped form with a scrolled handle and a pinched pouring spout. The pieces are marked to the underside with a black printed backstamp reading Spode, Made in ENGLAND, ITALIAN, SPODE DESIGN, C. 1816, flanked by a square logo containing a stylised letter C and a vertically oriented code 60/A1, with the additional captions DISHWASHER SAFE and MICROWAVE SAFE.
