A collection of Spode earthenware serving pieces in the Blue Italian pattern. The assortment comprises twin-handled deep bowls, a scalloped bowl, a square dish, a rectangular platter, a gravy boat with stand, and two specialty items. The transfer-printed decoration depicts classical ruins within a pastoral landscape, enclosed by a floral and foliate border. One small oval dish contains a central reserve with the text HAPPY BIRTHDAY. A rectangular commemorative dish celebrates the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, displaying the royal arms, the monogram E II R, and the dates 1952 and 2002. The undersides bear a printed black backstamp reading DISHWASHER SAFE and MICROWAVE SAFE around the script name Spode, with the central text Made in ENGLAND ITALIAN SPODE DESIGN C.1816 Y flanked by two dots. An impressed mark 40 is also visible.
