A collection of Spode earthenware kitchenware items in the Blue Italian pattern. The assortment comprises a cylindrical utensil jar, a matching cylindrical storage jar, and a rectangular shallow serving tray. Each piece features transfer-printed decoration in underglaze blue, depicting a classical landscape scene with ruins and figures within a wide floral and foliate border. The utensil jar is prominently marked with the word UTENSILS in a blue serif typeface to the front. The bases are printed with black factory marks reading DISHWASHER SAFE, Spode, Made in ENGLAND, ITALIAN, SPODE DESIGN C.1816, and MICROWAVE SAFE. The marks also incorporate a square device containing a stylised letter C, and a grey stamped mark 66/A1 is visible to the underside of the tray.
