The internal pendulum weighing mechanism provides readings via a dual-calibrated semicircular dial face protected by a clear acrylic cover. A polished metal plate mounted to the front is inscribed A V E R Y / TO WEIGH 500 GRAMME BY 5 GRAMME DIVISIONS / OR TO WEIGH 1 POUND BY 2 DRAM DIVISIONS. The dial itself is further marked made in England / by W & T Avery Ltd. and displays both metric and imperial units from 0 to 500 grams and 0 to 1 pound respectively, with a red-tipped needle serving as the indicator.
