A collection of 31 pieces of Portmeirion earthenware tableware in the Botanic Garden pattern, featuring designs by Susan Williams-Ellis. The service includes a variety of forms such as a large oval serving platter, nested bowls, dessert bowls, and side plates. Each piece is decorated with a characteristic green laurel leaf border encircling central transfer-printed botanical motifs, including Citrus medica (Citron), Galanthus nivalis (Snowdrop), and Crocus vernus, accompanied by realistic butterfly and moth illustrations. The pieces are finished with a clear glaze over scientific-style floral decorations. The base of the items features a printed green and brown backstamp within an oval cartouche reading THE BOTANIC GARDEN and circa 1818, wrapped by the names PORTMEIRION and SUSAN WILLIAMS-ELLIS. The surrounding ribbons include the text MADE IN ENGLAND, FREEZER & MICROWAVE SAFE, OVEN TO TABLE, and DISHWASHER PROOF, with a circular emblem containing the date 1972.
