A collection of two German-language historical publications including an antique bound volume and a Cold War era documentary pamphlet. The first item is a documentary booklet titled ‘ES GESCHAH AN DER MAUER / IT HAPPENED AT THE WALL / CELA S’EST PASSÉ AU MUR / E ACCADUTO AL MURO / SUCEDIO EN EL MURO’, featuring a monochrome cover photograph of an East German border guard? observing through binoculars. The upper left corner of the cover is printed with the number ’17’ and ‘900 000’. The second item is a nineteenth-century? half-bound volume of ‘Westenrieder’s sämmtliche Werke I’ by the Bavarian historian Lorenz von Westenrieder?. The book is constructed with boards covered in dark blue and green marbled paper and a black leather? spine featuring gilt-stamped decorative bands and titles. A small paper label is adhered to the spine bearing the handwritten text ‘Hist. prof. 1044’. The interior pages are printed in German Fraktur script, with page XXXIX containing biographical text referencing ‘Friedrich Schiller’ and a ‘Professor der Dichtkunst in Landshut’.
