Sold for: £8
A turned wooden bowl of deep circular form, featuring a rounded rim and a low, stepped foot. The exterior is decorated with two large, stylised hand-painted floral motifs, possibly lotuses or peonies?, executed in a textured impasto-like application of cream, pink, and yellow paints against a matt black ground. The interior displays a polished natural wood grain with a warm honey-brown finish, showing concentric turning marks from the lathe. The craftsmanship demonstrates a strong contrast between the dark, opaque painted exterior and the natural beauty of the wood grain within.
Diameter: 24.3 cm
