A pair of limited edition lion prints after original paintings by Stephen Gayford. The first work, titled African Gold, portrays a front-facing male lion in a detailed close-up portrait against a dark verdant background. The second work, Their First Lesson, depicts a lioness and four cubs traversing a grassy plain. Both pieces appear to be offset lithographs? or giclée? prints on paper, presented in off-white mounts and matching ornate gilt effect frames with scrolling foliate decoration to the corners. Each print features a printed signature within the composition and is hand-signed in pencil Stephen Gayford in the lower margin. The print African Gold is numbered 299/950 in pencil and has the title printed centrally in the lower margin alongside a small lion head emblem. The print Their First Lesson is numbered 299/1100 in pencil with the title printed centrally below the image.
