A mid-to-late 20th-century? storage trunk The rectangular trunk features a woven wicker body over a sturdy rattan pole frame, decorated with a central diamond motif to the front panel. The hinged lid is secured by a single brown leather strap with a metal buckle fastening. The accompanying small cabinet is similarly framed in rattan poles and contains two doors, each with inset panels of diagonal pencil rattan slats arranged in a chevron-like pattern. Both pieces are finished in a natural honey tone, characteristic of bohemian-style conservatory or bedroom furniture popular in the United Kingdom during the 1970s and 1980s.
