The hinged lid opens to reveal an interior lined in bright pink velvet, containing two mirrors set into the underside and multiple storage compartments. The central section houses a musical movement protected by a clear cover, flanked by a square compartment that swings outwards on a metal armature. The exterior is fitted with a diamond-shaped brass-effect metal escutcheon, and the box is raised on four short cylindrical feet.
