A group of industrial cast iron? nameplates comprising two rectangular examples and one central oval plate. The rectangular plates feature raised, embossed lettering reading SWITCHGEAR DIVISION at the top and SOUTH WALES TRANSFORMER at the bottom, flanking a circular logo containing the initials SWS overlaid with diagonal lightning bolts. The oval plate is embossed with the large characters AEI. All three pieces are finished in a matte dark grey? coating and include integral mounting holes to the corners or ends. These plates represent mid-century British electrical engineering components, specifically from the South Wales Switchgear company and the Associated Electrical Industries group.
