The vessel is constructed from translucent turquoise blue glass, decorated throughout the body and neck with opaque white feathered ‘pettinato’ trailed decoration, creating a rhythmic, wavy pattern against the blue ground. The jug is finished with a large, dramatic applied looped handle in matching turquoise glass, fused to the rim and shoulder, forming a sweeping curve. The craftsmanship demonstrates traditional glassblowing techniques, resulting in a vibrant and tactile decorative object characteristic of mid-century Maltese studio production.
