A collection of pocket compasses comprising both brass and white metal cased examples. The group includes two brass-cased compasses of hinged-lid form, each featuring a green felt lining to the lid interior. The black dials are printed with degree scales and cardinal points, including North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, and Northwest, with luminous triangular markers and tips to the needles. Two further compasses are constructed with white metal cases, including one hinged-lid example and one with a detached lid, both featuring suspension loops for fob attachment. Three of the dials bear a printed mark in white capital letters reading ‘FOREIGN’. One larger white metal compass features a 0-360 degree scale and a needle with a luminous green tip.
