A fireplace fender of rectangular curb form, constructed with repoussé hammered copper panels over a structural iron frame. The front elevation is decorated in high relief with a series of stylized organic motifs, featuring central circular bosses flanked by floral or seed-pod forms resembling poppies? or pomegranates?. The fender is fitted with two integrated brass uprights, each characterised by a slender sinuous stem topped with a mushroom-cap finial and supported by a spreading four-toed organic base. The metalwork displays a dark aged patina throughout. No signatures, maker marks, or hallmarks are legible on the copper or brass elements.
