An English Regency? mahogany adjustable pole screen. The rectangular mahogany frame features elaborate scroll and foliate carving to the corners and border, enclosing a glazed needlepoint panel worked in polychrome wools depicting a central floral bouquet within a foliate border. The frame is mounted on a height-adjustable turned and fluted support column, terminating in a tiered circular pedestal base with four scrolled feet. The construction incorporates mortise and tenon joints to the frame. A small white rectangular label is affixed to the base, though the characters upon it are not legible as a name or mark.
