An assortment of decorative ceramics and porcelain primarily of 20th-century British manufacture. The collection includes a group of Royal commemorative items. A porcelain plate commemorates the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer featuring central portraits surrounded by the printed text H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES and LADY DIANA SPENCER with the date JULY 29th 1981 below. A saucer commemorates the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II with a central portrait and printed text reading QUEEN ELIZABETH II CORONATION JUNE 2nd 1953. Also present is a cream-coloured plate with a central coat of arms and the printed text QUEEN ELIZABETH II.
Decorative cabinet plates include two examples featuring nursery-ware style illustrations of a young girl in a white nightdress with a small brown dog. A larger decorative plate features a central portrait of a Shih Tzu dog with a printed poetic inscription starting with the text You look at me with eyes of love. Further plates include a large blue and white transfer-printed earthenware plate depicting a castle in a river landscape with an ornate floral border, a plate with a pierced or reticulated lattice border and central floral spray, and a plate decorated with exotic birds and pink flowers within a navy and gilt border.
The lot also comprises a variety of teaware including white glazed bone china cups, examples with floral transfer decoration, and cups with Imari-style patterns to the interior rims. A cylindrical lidded storage jar is present featuring a two-tone glaze with a navy blue lid and shoulder over a slate blue body.
There are no manufacturer names readable on any of the pieces shown. While the items are characteristic of specific British potteries, they remain unattributed due to the absence of visible maker marks. Yellow inventory labels are present on some items and the storage bin, including a label reading 4854.
