A trio of metalware items comprising a wall basket, a sword-form letter opener, and a decorative shoe. The wall basket is constructed from stamped and pressed brass, featuring an embossed front panel depicting a figure in a landscape in the style of Thomas Gainsborough, set within a basket-shaped frame with an integrated hanging loop. The reverse is stamped with GAINSBOROUGH, WALL BASKET, NEEDS NO CLEANING!, and REG. DESIGN 861688. The second item is a cast copper-alloy commemorative letter opener in the form of a miniature sword. The hilt is shaped as a cross with a crown pommel, featuring relief decoration of a kiwi, silver fern, and a springbok head. The central boss contains a stylized GvR monogram for King George V. The third item is a decorative miniature shoe or clog crafted from silver-toned metal, possibly pewter or silver plate. It is decorated with elaborate punched, incised, and stamped geometric patterns, with thin applied metal strips representing laces. A notch in the heel suggests it may have been intended for use as a novelty ashtray.
