This lot comprises two early 20th-century collectibles. The first item is a gramophone record cleaning brush manufactured by C. Gilbert and Co. of Sheffield. It features a circular, domed wooden handle finished with a decorative multi-coloured transfer label. The label depicts a central globe with musical motifs and is inscribed GILBERT THE WORLD S BEST MUSIC C. GILBERT AND CO SHEFFIELD ENGLAND and REGISTERED TRADE MARK. The base is fitted with a circular brown plush cleaning pad. The second item is a miniature wooden souvenir barrel constructed from timber salvaged from H.M.S. Ganges. It features an applied curved brass plaque providing a detailed history of the vessel, stating it was built in Bombay in 1821 and broken up in Plymouth in 1930. The inscription describes the ship as the last sailing ship to serve as a sea-going flagship and attributes the souvenir s manufacture to Bark Beaufoy s Tub Co. Ltd of London.
